In this week’s episode, Marco Pimentel had the pleasure of talking with Victor Nicolov, founder and CEO of Sepura Home. Sepura is a home composting system that made Times’ top 100 inventions in 2020. Sepura uses proprietary technology to divert organic waste from landfills and drain systems into curbside compost receptacles or to make it easier for yard composting. The device is able to separate solids and liquids in an odourless bin and can attach to any kitchen sink. The idea for Sepura came to Victor when potato peels clogged the garburator he was using at the time. With Victor, we learn that garburators are notoriously unhealthy for the environment and that Sepura’s composting device can be the solution to diverting millions of organic waste from landfills and drain systems.
